Here’s a handy list of skull effects and where to find them:

Gold Skulls

Iron Skull
If you die, you restart from the beginning of the level.
The ‘Iron Skull’ is located at the very end of the first level. It is located behind the building where Sgt. Johnson is being held captive, up on the roof. You can gain access to the roof on the far right side of the building. Travel all the way over to the left side of the roof, and the Skull will be concealed in the corner.

Black Eye Skull
When you lose shield, the only way to get it back it to melee an enemy.
This Skull is located in the beginning of the second level ‘Crow’s Nest‘, the very room you start in. Hanging down from the ceiling is some piping. On top of this piping, on the side nearest to the large display (the one that Hood appears on) lies the ‘Black Eye Skull‘.

Tough Luck Skull
Your enemies never back down, always make their saving throws, and always charge you.
The ‘Tough Luck Skull’ is found on the third level, at the point in the level when the huge covenant cruiser flies overhead. On your left is some large piping following the road you are walking on. Underneath this piping are some support beams that extend out over a cliff. Jump onto the first of these beams, and travel to the end of it. Look to your left, and the Tough Luck Skull will be sitting on a rock extending from a cliff edge.

Catch Skull
Enemies throw LOTS of grenades.
The ‘Catch Skull’ can be found on the fourth level, in the first area where you need to destroy the Wraith Tanks. When you enter this area, do not eliminate the Wraith Tanks (The skull appears when the tanks appear, and disappears when the tanks are destroyed). The Skull is located on top of the circular building next to the Anti-Air Tank. You can access the roof using a grenade jump, or jumping on the back of a hog.

Fog Skull
“You’ll miss those eyes in the back of your head.” You lose your motion sensor.
The ‘Fog Skull’ is found on the level ‘Floodgate’, at the very beginning of the level. As you are walking down from the anti-air gun you destroyed in the previous mission, you encounter a ramp (next to a missile launcher). Around this ramp, you hit a checkpoint. At this point, you should also hear a marine yelling, “There! Over There!”.

You have a small window of opportunity at this point, but it is fairly easy to get the ‘Fog Skull‘. Look up, and to the right, directly at the roof of the building next to the missle launcher. There is a single flood form (not to be mistaken with the two other flood forms jumping in front of you) which is holding the skull. Kill him before he jumps, and he will drop the skull down to the ground where you can retrieve it. Too early, and the skull will get stuck on the roof though, so just time it carefully.

Famine Skull
Enemies drop 50% of the ammo they usually drop.
You can find the ‘Famine Skull’ on the sixth level, near the point where the path you follow branches off into two sections (one leading to the area where you need to let the tanks across the bridge, and the other leading towards the area where you meet up with the frigate). Take the right path, as you would if you were completing the mission, and you’ll notice a structure above you / to the left of you (near the area where you encounter a few ghosts).

You need to scale the rocks to the right of the structure, and then travel across it so that you pass 3 of the large support beams extending into the cliffs. Inside of the fourth support beam, lies the Famine Skull. A well placed grenade should have you up there in no time!

Thunderstorm Skull
All enemies are given a field promotion, and ranked up to their next available level.
The ‘Thunderstorm Skull’ can be found on the level, ‘The Covenant‘, after you take command of one of the Hornet vehicles. Fly towards the second force field generator (the one the Arbiter disabled), and land. The skull is waiting at the very top, at the end of the ramp extending over the sea.

Tilt Skull
Makes enemy resistance much greater. For example, Brute power armor becomes nearly impossible to take out with nearly anything except for plasma bursts.
The ‘Tilt Skull’ is found on the level ‘Cortana‘, in the circular room where Cortana mentions that she “Likes to play games too…”.

It’s a bit difficult to get to, as it requires getting on top of the ceiling of the room. Upon entering the room, head towards the left side where you will see some mushroom shaped extrusions along the wall. Get on top of these, and then look up and towards the right for another set of extrusions. Jump to these. From here, you should be able to jump on top of the ceiling of the room, where the Tilt Skull lies in the center.

Mythic Skull
All enemies have double their usual health.
This is probably the easiest Golden skull in the game to get. It is located in the very beginning of the final level in Halo 3. Begin by heading into the canyon, but hug the right wall. Very soon, you will notice that there is a turn to the right that is off the normal trail. Head a bit down this path, and the ‘Mythic Skull’ will be sitting there.

Silver Skulls

Blind Skull
You lose your HUD when this skull is turned on. You won’t see your weapons, shield, radar, etc.
The ‘Blind Skull’ is the first of the Silver Skulls in Halo 3, and can be found in the first mission. It is located relatively close to the beginning of the level.

After your first encounter with the Gold Armor Brute, Two enemy dropships will appear a bit further down the stream. Go towards the dropship that is furthest away, and stay on the right side of the stream. Continue along the right (towards the cliff edge), and a rock will jut out a bit over the large lake. The ‘Blind Skull’ is located on this rock.

Grunt Birthday Party Skull
When you get a headshot on an enemy Grunt, they will explode into confetti, and you’ll hear children cheer, “Yay!” in excitement.
This is one of the more fun Silver Skulls in Halo 3. The ‘Grunt Birthday Party Skull’ is located on the second mission, ‘Crow’s Nest‘, just before the area where you team up with the Arbiter (it’s the piping area where you see Drones buzzing in and out of an array of pipes). Just before you jump down the pipe to meet up with the Arbiter, stop at the ledge, and look directly below you. Along the wall that you drop down, there is a small ledge with a green arrow pointing backwards. Jump onto this ledge (rather than all the way down), and go inside this secret room. The skull is in the dead center of the room.

Cowbell Skull
Explosions become much bigger in the game.
The ‘Cowbell Skull’ is found on the level ‘The Ark‘, and marks the third Silver Skull found in the game. It’s fairly far into the level, so it takes a bit of time to find it.
Begin by heading all the way to the part of the level where you battle the Scarab. After defeating it, look in the middle of the desert area which you battled it in for a fairly large structure (it’s the building you see if you are at the bottom of the ramp you are supposed to go up, and turn to look in the opposite direction). Inside of this structure are several Gravity Lifts (shown below). Take one of these for later.

Next, head up the huge ramp, and head inside of the building (the one with the cartographer inside). Pass through a few of the rooms in this building, and you’ll eventually come to a room with a whole lot of Explosive crates. Right after this room is a Staircase/Hallway that leads to the level below. The Skull is located at the top of the room, at the point where you turn on the staircase to head for the next part of the slope. There are four platforms above you, the Skull is on the uppermost of these platforms. Use the Gravity Lift to jump up to it, and there you have it!

Unlocks hidden dialogue throughout Halo 3’s campaign.
Currently, the ‘IWHBYD (I Would Have Been Your Daddy) Skull’ has yet to be found by the public. Only members of the Bungie team know the location of the final Silver skull in the game.

Oct. 20th, 2006 @ 11:09 am Halo movie is a NO GO!
...From Universal studios that is. Apparently the two studios that where working on Halo: The movie, called up a meeting with Microsoft, Bungie and Peter Jackson to pretty much tell them to cut down on cost. Microsoft laughed, Bungie just sit there quiet cause Microsoft was laughing, and Peter Jackson started a speech of epic proportion (special edition dvd with extra rant and deleted scene of the speech coming soon).

Ok, so none of that happen. The meeting didn't even happen cause Micro, bungie and Peter said no to the price cut, which cause the studios to back down. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing, Microsoft had a plan B and is talking to other studios to pick up the movie, and Peter Jackson is in New Zealand still working on schedule for Pre-movie prepping.

Halo Wars:

The new game from Microsoft Studios.
Microsoft Game Studios announced Halo Wars, an all-new real-time strategy game based on the legendary Halo® universe and built exclusively for Xbox 360™ by Ensemble Studios, creators of the Age of Empires series.

In Halo Wars, take command of human UNSC armies as they deploy for mankind’s first deadly encounter with the enemy Covenant forces.

Microsoft Corp. thrilled attendees at its annual X06 event with dozens of announcements and gameplay experiences by inviting everyone to play the next generation now on the Xbox 360™ system.

The announcements highlight how the world's greatest game creators are stretching the bounds of what's possible in high definition and online storytelling.

This is exciting, a Halo RTS game being developed by Ensemble Studios. "Halo Wars" is a brand new saga in the Halo Universe that explores the time of first contact between the UNSC and Covenant Forces. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to control dozens of Warthogs and Scorpion tanks instead of just a single vehicle, your time has finally come.

Ensemble Studios has a rich heritage and expertise in the real-time-strategy genre through their extremely successful Age of Empires franchises on the PC. This latest endeavor has been designed from the ground up as an Xbox 360 title, with controls and interface specifically tuned for the needs of a console. The folks at Ensemble are the only team we trusted to make a Halo RTS and from what we've already seen (and played), it's going to be awesome. And yes, the controls do work great on a 360 pad.

Bungie has been working with Ensemble primarily in the area of the game's fiction to help inspire the story and ensure continuity with the existing Halo Universe. Aside from that, Ensemble is applying their skills to deliver a great Halo experience in a whole new genre, which is ironically where Halo began in the first place. If you've seen some of the very early Halo videos out there, you might recall that before it ever became an FPS, it was in fact designed as an RTS (building off of Bungie's experience with the Myth franchise). Now, many years later, Ensemble is able to take the franchise full circle and bring it back to the place where it all began.

This is so cool, I don't even know what to say. I am very excited.

I really,
really just,
I really just
don't care

I ran across this the other day so I
placed my pre-order and I figured
you might like to do the same.
I know most of you won't care this
early in the game because half of
you don't even have Xbox's you
still insist that your
OXBox is good enough.

I would hope though that this game
along with a whole line of others
will bring you back to the the
Dark Side of Gaming(Microsoft).
It would be nice if this subtle
influence was enough to make you
go out and buy an XBox
(yes I am talking to you Forkie and Soli)
I need to know I'm not the only
one that is this obsessed.
Here is the link:

I can't wait, I need to know how
the story ends. Yes its a NEED!
Its a ned like watching the second
Lord of the Rings movie. Its a
need like even though you knew
it would be whack you had to go
and watch the third Matrix movie.
I hate when I get involved with
a story and they cut you off
begging you for more(money) time
that you'll be interested in
because of the the setting they
have created. Shows on the tele
don't do that to me. If you have
a strong base story
(Fellowship, Messiah, or Combat Evolved)
and then you follow it up with a
good second chapter like
LotR: the Two Towers,
Matrix: Reloaded,
or H.C.E. Live Enabled.
You have already taken(consumed) my
attention(money) and made me care
enough to finish with the story.
So yes Bungie you have done well.
Even if I/we might end up hating
you for it, if you n00b it up.

The OXBox.

Because I now own and Xbox 360
and the original XBox I've come
up with a new catch phrase.

You write it like "Ox Box"
or "Oxbox" or "The OXBox".
Its pronounced Ox-Box (Ocks-Boks)

The Ox Box is what I'm calling
the Original or Old XBox.

So used in a sentance it be like this;
I want to get the first Halo game for my OXBox:
or -
My OXBox still has tons of music on it:

I own two copies of Halo 2. So now when friends
come over we can have up to eight people playing
Halo. We can play on 360(Xbox) live or through
system link. With four people on the Oxbox and
four on the 360.

You have to be a Knight before you can be a King!

In the Empire that B and Eve built people know their place. There are pawns, soldier, preachers, knights and the Lord and Lady of the House of Xalaga.

Its been a long road. When all the drama ran through the Part Sharks way back in the day when we all met through Halo chicks. When Clan the house, Dark Sharks, GayR0bot and Xalaga were born, I never expected us to still be here. When we formed last year(our anniversary is in about 35 days) on May Twenty First, it was a very exciting time. Now some of the passion that drove us has diminished.

What I want to see is why people don't play Xbox live anymore, I know we are growing in our personal lives (i.e. children, family, work ect.) still with so many games for us to play together where is everyone. I know I play less because the Four people I liked/loved to play with are never playing any of the games I have or enjoy. Who are my faves you ask?

is one her life is overwhelmed with running a web sight, taking care of a husband and playing non-live games.

is one he had some personal reasons for moving on from playing Halo and I doubt he plays our other clan games.

is another I miss but he has things going on in his life and well sometimes people grow apart.

is the Fourth on my list and sometimes money is low, so I feel his reasons for not being around.

Doctormed and his fam, Gingerdeadman and now dangerousmilk have been holding it down with me as best as they can. I just wish they were on more when I was. And I'll never forget my Mexi-fam in Vegas Big shout outs to my homie Mindclouder.

The Xalaga Knights are out there its just hard to gather us in one place at one time.

So whats my point you might ask that's easy. As our one year anniversary approaches I have some plans for what we should do to celebrate. I want to host a marathon and give out door prizes. We have had some ideas in the past and we have some new ones now so stay tuned to learn more. For now just know that this will be a major event.

Dear Halo 2, House of Xalaga Members:

As of 03/11/2006 there will be a new clan a temporary clan, lead by my alter ego "Be Sirius". It is a sub-group of our main clan. The point of, HoX V. is to have a clan that plays a lot of clan related events so showing up for clan matches is a huge priority of membership, everyone except me shall be a peon.

Why is that you ask because I want to create a very serious clan structure. There are a few who can easily earn membership and those are people who are already staff in the HoX. And when people start showing up more from the main clan Voltron will be disbanded. Most likely around the time when Halo 3 comes out. I am very loyal to the foundation which is HoX I just want to focus more on actual clan work.

Anyone from HoX is free to join but the real test is if you are available to play when called upon.

At anytime if a member would like to be re-added back into the main fold of HoX its only a matter of letting me know. I can always re-add you with my "B of Xalaga" account.

Just to be clear, I would never leave the HoX or ask anyone to leave our House permanently. I just want to be more focused. As a clan.

We can also focus on training up new recruits through the V. project.
